Active vibration control of flexible beam system based on cuckoo search algorithm

<p>A flexible beam is recognized as a lightweight structure that prone to excessive vibration, resulting in poor performance. Thus, controlling unwanted vibration necessary maintain the system’s Therefore, this study presents technique suppress undesired by introducing active control (AVC). However, develop an effective controller, appropriate model must first be obtained. In recent times, one of best methods employed system identification via swarm intelligence algorithm. study, intelligent algorithm acknowledged cuckoo search (CS) was acquainted. The capability proposed verified using three robustness techniques which were correlation test, pole-zero diagrams and mean square error (MSE). simulation result showed CS achieved superior performance achieving lowest MSE 6.1547x10<sup>-9</sup>, test between 95% confidence level high stability. Next, proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller tuned Ziegler-Nichols method developed transfer function accomplished from model. Two types interference, namely single multiple sine waves introduced validate effectiveness controller. successfully 30.2 dB attenuation for both disturbances.</p>
